Base Ingredients

Mascarpone Mixture

Method

Preparation of Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew the Coffee

Brew 240 ml of espresso or strong coffee. Allow it to cool slightly before using.

  2. 2

    Add Sugar

Stir 50 g of sugar into the warm coffee until dissolved.

Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 3

    Prepare Egg Yolks

In a large bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 50 g of sugar until pale and creamy.

  2. 4

    Combine with Mascarpone

Add 500 g of mascarpone cheese and 1 tsp of vanilla extract to the egg mixture, mixing until smooth.

  3. 5

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 240 ml of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  4. 6

    Fold Mixtures Together

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Soak Ladyfingers

Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

In a 9x9 inch dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over them.

  3. 9

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Finishing Touch

  1. 10

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

  2. 11

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings if desired.
