Method
Preparation and Baking
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- 3
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- 4
Shape the Pizza
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out one portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape.
- 5
Add Sauce and Toppings
Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a pizza peel or baking sheet. Spread a layer of tomato sauce, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Add pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, olives, and sprinkle with oregano.
- 6
Bake the Pizza
Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated stone or place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute, slice, and serve hot.
