Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine the spicy Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- 3
Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- 4
Cook the Pasta
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 5
Make the Alfredo Sauce
In the same skillet used for the meatballs, add the heavy cream and marinara sauce. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer. Allow to cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6
Combine Pasta and Meatballs
Add the cooked rigatoni and meatballs to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
- 7
Add Cheese and Bake
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with shredded mozzarella cheese, and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 8
Serve
Remove from the oven and let sit for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Spicy Sausage Meatballs Rigatoni!
