Method

Preparation of Smoked Pork Chops

  1. 1

    Marinate the Pork Chops

In a bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Rub this mixture over the pork chops and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Smoke the Pork Chops

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Smoke the pork chops for about 1-1.5 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

Preparation of Smoked Turnips

  1. 3

    Prepare the Turnips

Peel and slice the turnips into wedges. Toss them with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

  2. 4

    Smoke the Turnips

Place the turnip wedges in the smoker for about 30-40 minutes until tender.

Preparation of Vegetable du Jour

  1. 5

    Cook the Vegetables

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add seasonal vegetables and cook until tender, seasoning with salt and pepper.

Preparation of Bacon Cherry Jam

  1. 6

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, then chop into small pieces.

  2. 7

    Make the Jam

In the same skillet, add pitted cherries, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar. Cook over medium heat until the cherries break down and the mixture thickens. Stir in the chopped bacon.
