Fries Ingredients

Method

Fries Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into long strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.

  3. 3

    Dry the Potatoes

After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

In batches, carefully add the dried potato strips to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch.

  6. 6

    Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Immediately season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve hot as a delicious side or snack!
