Chicken Wings
Sticky Rice
Method
Preparing Chicken Wings
- 1
Marinate the Wings
In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic cloves, grated ginger, black pepper, and sesame oil. Mix well. Add the chicken wings to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
- 2
Cook the Wings
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the marinated chicken wings on the rack, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until wings are crispy and golden brown.
- 3
Garnish
Once the wings are cooked, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Chop the green onions and sprinkle them over the wings before serving.
Preparing Sticky Rice
- 4
Soak the Rice
Place the sticky rice in a bowl and cover it with water. Let it soak for at least 4 hours or overnight if possible.
- 5
Steam the Rice
After soaking, drain the rice and place it in a bamboo steamer lined with cheesecloth. In a pot, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Place the steamer over the pot and cover. Steam the rice for 30-35 minutes, or until it becomes tender and translucent. Sprinkle with salt and fluff with a fork before serving.
