Method

Preparation

1

Wash and Prepare Vegetables

Thoroughly wash the mixed lettuce under running water. Dry it using a salad spinner or pat it dry with a clean kitchen towel. Next, peel and shred the carrots if they are not pre-shredded, and chop the tomatoes into bite-sized pieces.

2

Slice the Red Onion

Peel the red onion and slice it thinly. If desired, you can soak the slices in cold water for about 10 minutes to mellow the flavor.

3

Prepare the Black Olives

Drain the black olives if they are canned, and slice them into rings or keep them whole, depending on your preference.

Assembling the Salad

4

Combine Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, combine the mixed lettuce, shredded carrots, black olives, sliced red onions, and chopped tomatoes. Gently toss the ingredients together until well mixed.

5

Add Croutons

Sprinkle the croutons over the salad just before serving to maintain their crunchiness.

Serving

6

Serve and Enjoy

Serve the salad immediately as a refreshing side or light meal. If you are offering a gluten-free option, substitute standard croutons with gluten-free croutons.
