Method

Prepare the Waffle Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and mashed banana until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Gently stir until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Cook the Waffles

  1. 4

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 5

    Cook the Waffles

Once the iron is hot, lightly grease it with cooking spray or melted butter. Pour the appropriate amount of batter onto the center of the waffle iron. Close the lid and cook for about 4-6 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown.

  3. 6

    Remove and Serve

Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and place them on a warm plate. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Add Toppings

  1. 7

    Top the Waffles

On each waffle, layer with fresh banana slices, chopped walnuts, and drizzle with maple syrup to your liking.

  2. 8

    Serve Immediately

Serve the banana nut waffles warm and enjoy!
