Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a large bowl, gently mix the Wagyu beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip the patties, place a slice of gouda cheese on top, and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burger reaches your desired doneness.

Bourbon Onion Aioli Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Aioli

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil and sauté the chopped onion until soft and golden brown, about 8-10 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 4

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine sautéed onions and garlic with mayonnaise, bourbon, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, layer lettuce, the cooked Wagyu patty topped with melted gouda, a slice of tomato, and a few rings of red onion. Spread the bourbon onion aioli generously on the top half of the bun.

  2. 6

    Finish and Serve

Place the top half of the bun on the assembled ingredients, slice the burger in half if desired, and serve immediately with your choice of side.
