Preparation
- 1
Choose Your Edamame
Select fresh or frozen edamame pods. If using frozen, there's no need to thaw them before cooking.
- 2
Boil Water
In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- 3
Add Edamame
Once the water is boiling, carefully add 2 cups of edamame pods to the pot.
- 4
Steam the Edamame
Allow the edamame to cook for 3-5 minutes. If using fresh edamame, cook for about 3 minutes; if using frozen, cook for about 5 minutes. The edamame should be tender but still firm.
- 5
Drain the Edamame
Using a colander, carefully drain the edamame and let it sit for a minute to allow excess water to drip off.
- 6
Season with Salt
While the edamame is still warm, sprinkle 1 teaspoon of salt over the pods. Toss them gently to ensure even coating.
- 7
Serve
Transfer the seasoned edamame to a serving bowl. Serve warm as a snack or appetizer. Enjoy!
