Method

Pulled Pork

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  2. 2

    Cook the Pork

Place the seasoned pork in a slow cooker. Combine BBQ sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar in a bowl, mixing well. Pour over the pork. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender and pulls apart easily.

  3. 3

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix well with the sauce.

Hawaiian Sauce

  1. 4

    Make the Hawaiian Sauce

In a medium saucepan, combine pineapple juice, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, ketchup, and sriracha. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 10 minutes until slightly thickened. Set aside.

Grilled Pineapple

  1. 5

    Prepare the Pineapple

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Coat the pineapple slices with the mixture.

  2. 6

    Grill the Pineapple

Place the pineapple slices on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, until grill marks appear and the fruit is caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.

House-made Slaw

  1. 7

    Prepare the Slaw

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage and carrots. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper to make the dressing.

  2. 8

    Mix the Slaw

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots mixture and toss until well coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
