Method

Sloppy Joe Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  3. 3

    Mix the Sauce

Stir in the ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.

  4. 4

    Simmer

Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

    Prepare Buns

While the filling simmers, prepare the hamburger buns by toasting them lightly if desired.

  6. 6

    Assemble

Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.

Fries

  1. 7

    Heat Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 8

    Fry the Fries

Carefully add the frozen french fries to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes.

  3. 9

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

  4. 10

    Serve

Serve the fries alongside the sloppy joes.
