Ribs

Basting Sauce (Optional)

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness. Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, and brown sugar. Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated. Let the ribs sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).

  2. 4

    Bake the Ribs

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs with another layer of foil to keep them moist. Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bone.

  3. 5

    Optional Basting

If using the basting sauce, mix the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and honey in a bowl. During the last 30 minutes of cooking, remove the top layer of foil and brush the ribs with the basting sauce every 10 minutes.

Finishing

  1. 6

    Rest and Serve

Once cooked, remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side, if desired.
