Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this seasoning blend all over the pork ribs, ensuring an even coating.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F) for slow cooking.

  3. 3

    Wrap the Ribs

Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil, sealing the edges to keep the moisture in.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 4

    Slow Cook the Ribs

Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and cook in the preheated oven for 3 hours, allowing them to become tender.

Making the BBQ Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and liquid smoke. Stir until well blended.

  2. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly.

Finishing the Ribs

  1. 7

    Glaze the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap them. Brush the ribs generously with the prepared BBQ sauce on both sides.

  2. 8

    Broil the Ribs

Place the glazed ribs under the broiler for about 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and bubbling. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.

  3. 9

    Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
