Marinara Sauce Ingredients
Method
Meatball Preparation
- 1
Combine Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- 2
Shape Meatballs
Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Cook Meatballs
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
Marinara Sauce Preparation
- 4
- 5
Add Tomatoes and Season
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, sugar, and chopped basil. Bring the sauce to a simmer.
- 6
Simmer Sauce
Let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the sauce thickens too much, you can add a splash of water.
- 7
Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Once the sauce is ready, add the cooked meatballs back into the skillet with the marinara sauce. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to heat through and allow the flavors to meld.
