Method

Prepare the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add lemon halves, Old Bay seasoning, and salt to the water. Once boiling, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.

  2. 2

    Ice Bath

Remove the shrimp from the boiling water and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain and Chill

Drain the shrimp and place them in the refrigerator to chill until ready to serve.

Prepare the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Stir until well mixed.

  2. 5

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with more horseradish or hot sauce if desired.
