Method
Make the Pie Crust
Roll Out the Dough
On a floured surface, roll out the dough to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place the crust in the pie plate and trim the edges. Refrigerate while preparing the filling.
Prepare the Filling
Mix the Apples
In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Set aside to marinate while preparing the crumble topping.
Make the Crumble Topping
Combine Ingredients
In a bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, oats, melted butter, and cinnamon until crumbly. Set aside.
Assemble and Bake
Assemble the Pie
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust and sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
Bake the Pie
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
