Chicken Wings
Whiskey Sauce
Method
Chicken Wings Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Chicken Wings
Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Season the Wings
In a large bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and baking powder. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss well until they are evenly coated with the seasoning.
- 3
Arrange for Baking
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. This will help the wings get crispy. Arrange the seasoned wings on the wire rack in a single layer.
- 4
Bake the Wings
Drizzle the vegetable oil over the wings. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, turning halfway through, until the wings are golden and crispy.
Whiskey Sauce Preparation
- 5
Make the Whiskey Sauce
While the wings are baking, combine the whiskey, brown sugar, soy sauce, hot sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a saucepan over medium heat.
- 6
Simmer the Sauce
Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 7
Toss the Wings
Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven. In a large bowl, toss the crispy wings with the prepared whiskey sauce until they are fully coated.
Serving
- 8
Serve the Wings
Transfer the whiskey wings to a serving platter and serve hot. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce or celery sticks!
