Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prep the Pickles

Open the jar of dill pickles and drain the liquid. Pat the pickles dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Breading Station

  1. 2

    Set Up the Breading Station

In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined. In a third bowl, place the cornmeal.

Breading the Pickles

  1. 3

    Bread the Pickles

Take each pickle slice and dip it first in the flour mixture, coating it evenly. Then, dip it in the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, roll it in the cornmeal until fully coated. Repeat this for all pickle slices.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the breaded pickle slices to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried pickles and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Serve the fried pickles hot with a side of ranch dressing for dipping.
