Cocktail Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Muddle the Sugar

In an old-fashioned glass, place the sugar cube and add two dashes of Angostura bitters on top. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to crush the sugar cube until it dissolves slightly, creating a paste with the bitters.

  2. 2

    Add Whiskey

Pour 2 ounces of bourbon or rye whiskey over the muddled sugar and bitters mixture in the glass.

  3. 3

    Stir the Cocktail

Add 3 ice cubes to the glass. Using a bar spoon or a regular spoon, gently stir the mixture for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled and combined.

  4. 4

    Garnish

Express the oils from a slice of orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a gentle twist, then drop the peel into the drink. Add a maraschino cherry on top as a garnish.
