Method

Prepare Pork

  1. 1

    Season the Pork

Sprinkle the pork cutlets with salt and black pepper on both sides. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  2. 2

    Dredge the Cutlets

Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs. Dredge each pork cutlet in flour, shaking off excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat thoroughly with panko breadcrumbs.

Fry the Cutlets

  1. 3

    Heat Oil

In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread in; it should sizzle immediately.

  2. 4

    Fry the Cutlets

Carefully place the breaded pork cutlets in the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.

  3. 5

    Drain the Cutlets

Once cooked, remove the cutlets from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serve

  1. 6

    Plate the Dish

Slice the fried pork cutlets into strips and arrange them on a serving plate. Serve with shredded cabbage on the side, drizzle tonkatsu sauce over the cutlets, and garnish with lemon wedges.
