Steak

Teriyaki Sauce

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper, allowing the seasoning to adhere for about 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat a grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the steaks on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your preferred doneness is achieved.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute throughout the meat.

Making the Teriyaki Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and minced ginger over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Thicken the Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water until smooth. Once the sauce mixture begins to simmer, slowly add the cornstarch mixture while continuously stirring until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.

Serving the Dish

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Slice the rested steaks against the grain into thin strips. Arrange on a serving platter, drizzle with the teriyaki sauce, and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

  2. 7

    Enjoy

Serve immediately with steamed rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
