Method

Preparation of Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper. Place the ribeye steaks in the marinade, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1-2 hours.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the steak is marinating, slice the zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, and bell pepper into uniform pieces to ensure even cooking.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Hibachi

Preheat your grill or hibachi to high heat. This will ensure a nice sear on the steak.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and shake off excess liquid. Place the steaks on the hot grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on your preferred doneness.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Cooking the Vegetables

  1. 6

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate pan, heat a tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced vegetables and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly charred.

  2. 7

    Add Sauce

Pour the teriyaki sauce and rice vinegar over the sautéed vegetables. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Slice the rested steak against the grain. Serve the steak slices alongside the sautéed vegetables, garnished with chopped green onions.
