Fish Preparation

Method

Fish Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Halibut

Rinse the halibut fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the fillets with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.

  2. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  3. 3

    Cook the Halibut

Place the seasoned halibut fillets in the hot skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Remove the halibut from the skillet and set aside on a warm plate.

Lemon Butter Sauce

  1. 4

    Make the Sauce

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the unsalted butter. Allow it to melt and foam, then add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, being careful not to burn it.

  2. 5

    Add Lemon Juice and Capers

Stir in the fresh lemon juice and capers. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 2-3 minutes to marry the flavors.

  3. 6

    Finish with Parsley

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley. Pour the lemon butter sauce over the cooked halibut fillets.

Garnishing

  1. 7

    Garnish the Dish

Serve the halibut with lemon wedges on the side and sprinkle additional chopped parsley on top for garnish.
