Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Clean the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Apply Dry Rub

In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients for the dry rub. Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs. Wrap the ribs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best flavor.

Making the Barbecue Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

  2. 4

    Simmer the Sauce

Cook the sauce over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. 6

    Bake the Ribs

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover them tightly with another piece of foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.

  3. 7

    Apply Barbecue Sauce

Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil. Brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over the ribs on both sides.

  4. 8

    Broil the Ribs

Switch the oven to broil and place the ribs back in the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 9

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven, let them rest for a few minutes, then slice into portions and serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
