Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Yogurt Base

In a mixing bowl, add 2 cups of yogurt. Whisk the yogurt until smooth and creamy.

  2. 2

    Season the Yogurt

Add 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of cumin powder, and 1 tsp of black pepper to the yogurt. Mix well to incorporate the spices.

Adding Vegetables

  1. 3

    Choose Your Vegetable

Select one of the vegetable options: grated beetroot, grated cucumber, or mixed grated vegetables. Add 1 cup of your chosen vegetable to the yogurt mixture.

  2. 4

    Mix Well

Stir the chosen vegetable into the yogurt base until evenly distributed.

Garnishing

  1. 5

    Add Fresh Herbs

Chop fresh coriander and mint leaves. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of each herb on top of the raita.

  2. 6

    Final Mix

Gently fold the herbs into the raita for added flavor and garnish.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve Chilled

Transfer the raita to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld.

  2. 8

    Enjoy

Serve the raita as a side dish with your favorite Indian meal or as a refreshing dip with snacks.
