1. Prepare the Ingredients
Measure out all the ingredients needed for the cream of Earl Grey tea and set them aside.
2. Boil the Water
In a medium-sized saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
3. Steep the Tea
Once the water is boiling, remove it from the heat and add 2 cups of Assam black tea. Stir in the blue cornflowers. Cover the saucepan and let the tea steep for about 5 minutes.
4. Add Vanilla and Bergamot
After steeping, split the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape the seeds into the tea. Add the vanilla bean pod along with 1 tsp of Italian bergamot oil. Stir well.
5. Strain the Tea
Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the tea mixture into a large bowl or another pot to remove the tea leaves and flower petals.
6. Add Cream and Sweeten
Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream to the strained tea and stir until well combined. Taste and add sugar if desired, stirring until dissolved.
7. Serve
