Method
Preparing the Fries
- 1
Fry the Potatoes
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the frozen French fries and cook according to the package instructions until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Drain the Fries
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Season with salt to taste.
Assembling the Loaded Fries
- 3
Layer the Ingredients
Spread the fries evenly on a large serving platter or baking sheet. Evenly sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the hot fries, followed by the crumbled bacon and sliced jalapeños.
- 4
Melt the Cheese
Place the loaded fries under a broiler for about 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
- 5
Garnish and Serve
Remove the loaded fries from the oven and drizzle sour cream on top. Garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately while hot.
