Method

Prepare the Beef Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Gently mix with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cook the Burgers

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of American cheese on each. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half if not already done.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a slice of tomato. Once the patties are cooked, place them on top of the tomato, then drizzle with Shack sauce. Finally, top with the other half of the bun.
