Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Juicing the Lemons

Cut the fresh lemons in half and use a citrus juicer to extract the juice. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Dissolving Sugar

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

  3. 3

    Mixing the Lemonade

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the sugar syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine. Adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar syrup to taste if desired.

Serving

  1. 4

    Chill and Serve

Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve in glasses over ice cubes, garnished with fresh mint leaves if desired.
