Method
Brewing the Tea
- 1
Prepare the Water
In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 2
Steep the Tea
Once the water reaches a boil, remove it from heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.
- 3
Remove Tea Bags
After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags and discard them. The brewed tea should be a rich amber color.
Flavoring the Tea
- 4
Add Sugar
While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until fully dissolved.
- 5
Add Lemon Juice
Mix in 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice to add a refreshing citrus flavor to the tea.
- 6
Infuse with Mint
Add 10 fresh mint leaves to the warm tea and let it steep for an additional 5 minutes to infuse the mint flavor.
Cooling and Serving
- 7
Cool the Tea
Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chilled.
- 8
Prepare to Serve
In a glass, add 2 cups of ice cubes. Pour the chilled tea over the ice.
- 9
Garnish
Garnish with lemon slices and additional mint leaves if desired.
