Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Dice the ham into small cubes. Chop the bacon into smaller pieces. Remove the seeds from the green and red bell peppers, and chop them into small chunks. Peel and dice the onion.
Cooking
- 2
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon pieces until they are crispy. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel to drain excess grease.
- 3
Sauté the Vegetables
In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
- 4
Combine Ingredients
Add the diced ham and cooked bacon back into the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Stir well to combine, and let it cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
- 5
Add Cheese and Seasoning
Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the mixture in the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined, about 2-3 minutes.
Serving
- 6
Serve Hot
Remove from heat and serve immediately while hot. This dish can be served on its own or as a filling in a wrap or omelette.
