Toppings

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined; avoid overmixing.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates or pan to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. Add cheese if desired during the last minute of cooking.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half. Toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if preferred.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

Spread 2 tablespoons of Shack sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer with lettuce leaves, cooked burger patty, a slice of tomato, and the top half of the bun.
