Preparing the Burger Patty

Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined; avoid overmixing.

Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Prepare the Buns
While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half. Toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if preferred.

Add Toppings
Spread 2 tablespoons of Shack sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer with lettuce leaves, cooked burger patty, a slice of tomato, and the top half of the bun.
