Chicken Marinade

Assembly

Method

Marinating the Chicken

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts and ensure they are fully submerged in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

Breading the Chicken

  1. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In another bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Frying the Chicken

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully add the breaded chicken to the hot oil, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  3. 6

    Drain the Chicken

Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 7

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly in a separate pan or toaster until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a piece of fried chicken on top, followed by lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
