Prep & Rim
Prepare glass rim
Choose a chilled coupe or martini glass. Run the lemon wedge around the glass rim to wet it evenly. Pour the teaspoon of granulated sugar onto a small plate and gently dip and rotate the wet rim into the sugar until evenly coated. Set the glass aside to let the sugar set while you prepare the cocktail.
Make the Cocktail
Hull and quarter the three fresh strawberries. Place the strawberries into a cocktail shaker and muddle until broken down and fairly smooth (about 20–30 seconds).
Add 2 oz Absolute Citron vodka, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.5 oz triple sec, and 0.5 oz simple syrup to the shaker with the muddled strawberries.
Add about 1/2 cup crushed ice to the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and the mixture is well combined and slightly frothy.
Prepare the rimmed glass with 3–4 fresh ice cubes (if serving over ice) or leave empty if serving straight up. Fine-strain the shaken cocktail into the prepared glass using both the shaker strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove seeds and pulp for a smooth finish.
Garnish & Serve
Slice a thin notch in the reserved whole strawberry and place it on the rim of the glass as a garnish. Optionally, lightly press the strawberry into the sugared rim so it sits securely.
Serve immediately. Encourage guests to stir lightly before sipping if served over ice.
