Prepare Glass
Fill a highball glass with ice. If you prefer a very cold glass, chill the glass briefly in the freezer beforehand.
Add Spirits and Mixers
Pour 2 oz dark spiced rum over the ice, then add 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 0.25 oz simple syrup.
Top and Stir
Top the drink with about 4 oz ginger beer. Gently stir once or twice with a bar spoon to combine—avoid over-stirring to keep the ginger beer fizzy.
Garnish and Serve
Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim and an optional mint sprig. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer.
