1

Prepare glass

If desired, run a lime wedge around the rim of a highball or Collins glass and optionally dip the rim in coarse salt. Fill the glass with ice to chill while you mix the drink.

2

Combine base ingredients

In a cocktail shaker (no need to strain if using soda) or mixing glass, add 2 oz blanco tequila, 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 tsp agave syrup, and a small pinch (about 1/8 tsp) of kosher salt. Add a few ice cubes to the shaker.

3

Shake

Shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and the ingredients are well chilled and slightly diluted.

4

Assemble

Discard the ice from the chilled serving glass if you prefer and add fresh ice. Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over ice.

5

Top with soda

Top the drink with about 3 oz grapefruit soda (or club soda plus extra grapefruit juice to taste). Gently stir once to combine, being careful not to over-stir and flatten the soda.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a grapefruit wedge or wheel and a lime wedge or wheel. Serve with a straw if desired.
