Cocktail

Method

Prepare the Glass

1

Rim selection and preparation

Choose whether you want a sugar rim (recommended for this strawberry margarita) or a salt rim. Pour the granulated sugar onto a small plate. Run the lime wedge around the outer rim of a chilled rocks or coupe glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into the sugar, twisting to coat evenly. Set the glass aside to allow the rim to set while you mix the cocktail.

Make the Strawberry Margarita

2

Muddle strawberries

Place the hulled fresh strawberries in a cocktail shaker or mixing glass. Muddle thoroughly until the berries are broken down and release their juices (about 15–30 seconds). If you prefer a smoother texture, mash longer or press through a fine strainer later.

3

Add spirits and mixers

Add 2 oz Patrón Silver tequila, 1 oz triple sec, 2 oz sweet & sour mix, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup (if using) into the shaker with the muddled strawberries.

4

Shake with ice

Add a generous handful of ice (about 1 cup) to the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is chilled and slightly frosty. This chills the drink and helps integrate the strawberry purée.

5

Strain and serve

If you prefer a smooth cocktail, double-strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into the prepared sugar-rimmed glass filled with fresh ice. For a more rustic presentation, single-strain directly into the glass or pour unstrained for more fruit texture.

6

Garnish

Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim and a fresh strawberry slice on the rim or floated on top. Serve immediately.
