Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and five spice powder until well combined.
- 2
Marinate the Ribs
Place the pork ribs in a large zip-lock bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight.
- 3
Slow Cook the Ribs
Preheat your slow cooker. Place the marinated ribs in the slow cooker and pour in 500 ml of water. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the ribs are tender.
- 4
Glaze the Ribs
Once the ribs are cooked, preheat your grill or broiler. Remove the ribs from the slow cooker and place them on a baking sheet. Brush generously with the leftover marinade. Grill or broil for 5-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the glaze is caramelized and sticky.
- 5
Serve
Garnish the ribs with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy your sticky char siu glazed pork ribs!
