Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Glass
Begin by chilling a rocks glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and letting it sit while you prepare the drink.
- 2
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of Old Forester 100 Bourbon, 0.5 oz of simple syrup, and 2 dashes of black walnut bitters. Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir well for about 20-30 seconds.
- 3
Smoke the Drink
Remove the ice water from the chilled rocks glass and strain the mixed drink into it. Use a smoking gun or carefully torch the cedar chips to create smoke. Capture the smoke in the glass by placing a small lid or another glass over the top to infuse the drink with a smoky flavor.
- 4
Garnish
Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink and then drop it into the glass as a garnish.
- 5
Serve
Serve immediately and enjoy your Smoked Old Fashioned!
