Method

Pork Shoulder Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Pork

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the pork shoulder.

  2. 2

    Roast the Pork

Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a roasting pan. Pour apple cider vinegar and water into the bottom of the pan to maintain moisture. Cover the pan tightly with foil and roast in the preheated oven for about 6-8 hours, or until the pork is tender and pulls apart easily.

Honey Butter Preparation

  1. 3

    Make Honey Butter

In a bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, honey, and salt. Mix until well combined and creamy. Set aside.

Pimento Cheese Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Pimento Cheese

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sharp cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, pimentos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Once the pork is done, shred it using two forks. Toast the potato rolls lightly. Spread honey butter on the inside of each roll. Layer with shredded pork, pimento cheese, sliced pickles, and jalapeños. Serve immediately.
