Method

Preparation of Fish

  1. 1

    Dice the Fish

Using a sharp knife, carefully dice the tuna, salmon, and yellowtail into small, uniform cubes (about 1/2 inch).

  2. 2

    Combine the Fish

In a medium bowl, gently combine the diced tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. Be careful not to mash the fish.

Preparation of Vegetables

  1. 3

    Prepare Edamame

If using frozen edamame, boil them in salted water for 3-5 minutes until tender. Drain and let cool.

  2. 4

    Dice the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Dice it into small cubes and add it to the bowl with the fish.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 5

    Mix All Ingredients

Add the shelled edamame into the bowl with the fish and avocado. Mix gently to combine.

  2. 6

    Add Seasoning

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Pour this dressing over the fish and vegetable mixture.

  3. 7

    Garnish with Chives

Sprinkle the finely chopped chives over the tartare mixture and stir gently to combine.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Tartare

Using a ring mold, carefully pack the tartare mixture into individual servings on a plate. Remove the mold and garnish with extra chives if desired.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve immediately with tortilla chips, crackers, or on its own as an elegant appetizer.
