    Prepare the Malanga

Peel the malanga roots and cut them into small cubes.

  2. 2

    Boil the Malanga

In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the malanga cubes. Cook for about 15 minutes or until tender. Drain and let cool.

  3. 3

    Mash the Malanga

Once cooled, mash the malanga cubes in a bowl until smooth.

  4. 4

    Mix Ingredients

Add olive oil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, paprika, and the beaten egg to the mashed malanga. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

  5. 5

    Form Bites

Shape the mixture into small bite-sized balls or patties.

  6. 6

    Coat with Bread Crumbs

Roll each malanga bite in bread crumbs until fully coated.

  7. 7

    Fry the Bites

Heat a frying pan over medium heat with a little olive oil. Fry the bites for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
