Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Oysters

Rinse the fresh oysters under cold water to remove any dirt or debris. Use a scrub brush if necessary.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add minced garlic cloves and cook for about 2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Grill the Oysters

Place the cleaned oysters on the grill, cup side down, and close the lid. Grill for about 5 minutes or until the oysters start to open.

  3. 5

    Add Garlic Butter and Cheese

Carefully open the oysters and spoon a generous amount of the garlic butter mixture into each oyster. Sprinkle with Pecorino Romano cheese.

  4. 6

    Finish Grilling

Close the grill lid and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Oysters

Remove the oysters from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter. Garnish with lemon wedges and serve while warm.
