Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Wagyu Patties

In a mixing bowl, gently mix the American Wagyu beef with salt and black pepper. Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, about ¾ inch thick.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  3. 3

    Melt the Gruyère Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Gruyère cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

  4. 4

    Caramelize the Onions

In a separate skillet, cook sliced onions over medium heat with a bit of oil for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized.

Truffle Aioli Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Truffle Aioli

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, truffle oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and well combined.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, spread a generous amount of truffle aioli. Layer the lettuce, cooked Wagyu patty with melted Gruyère, caramelized onions, and slices of tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
