Make the Maple Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine equal parts pure maple syrup and water. Heat over low heat, stirring until mixed. Allow to cool before using.

Prepare the Glass
Place 4 ice cubes into an Old Fashioned glass.

Mix the Drink
In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of Bulleit Bourbon, 0.5 oz of the house maple simple syrup, and 2 dashes of orange bitters.

Stir and Strain
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir for about 30 seconds. Strain the mixture into the prepared Old Fashioned glass over the ice.

Garnish
Express the oils from a piece of orange peel over the drink and then drop it into the glass as a garnish.
