Method
Lavender Syrup Preparation
- 1
Make the Lavender Syrup
In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of dried lavender buds with 2 cups of water. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- 2
Steep the Lavender
Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and let the lavender steep for about 15 minutes.
- 3
Strain the Mixture
After steeping, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the lavender buds, returning the liquid to the saucepan.
- 4
Add Sugar
Add 1 cup of granulated sugar to the lavender-infused water in the saucepan. Stir over low heat until the sugar completely dissolves.
- 5
Cool the Syrup
Remove from heat and let the lavender syrup cool to room temperature. Once cooled, store in a sealed container in the refrigerator until ready to use.
Lemonade Preparation
- 6
Juice the Lemons
Squeeze 1 cup of fresh lemon juice from the lemons, ensuring to remove any seeds.
- 7
Mix the Lemonade
In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, 4 cups of water, and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.
- 8
Add Lavender Syrup
Pour in the prepared lavender syrup to the lemonade mixture, adjusting the amount to taste. Stir well to combine.
- 9
Serve the Mocktail
Fill glasses with ice cubes (approximately 1/4 cup of ice per glass) and pour the lavender lemonade over the ice.
- 10
Garnish and Enjoy
Garnish each glass with fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Lavender Lemonade Mocktail!
