Method
Preparation of Salad Base
- 1
Chop Romaine Lettuce
Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Remove any wilted leaves. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Prepare Croutons
If using store-bought croutons, measure out 1 cup and set aside. If making homemade croutons, cut stale bread into cubes, toss with olive oil and seasonings, and bake at 375°F (190°C) until golden and crispy, about 10-15 minutes.
Making the Dressing
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, grated Parmesan cheese, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
- 4
Mix Dressing
Whisk all the ingredients together until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
Assembling the Salad
- 5
Toss Ingredients
Pour the dressing over the chopped romaine lettuce and toss well to combine. Ensure that all the lettuce is evenly coated with the dressing.
- 6
Add Croutons
Sprinkle the croutons over the salad and gently toss to mix.
- 7
Serve
If desired, add anchovies on top of the salad for extra flavor. Serve immediately.
