- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large, deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a small piece of bread; if it sizzles, the oil is ready.
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully place the breaded pickle chips into the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried pickle chips from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
For the Ranch Dip
- 7
Mix the Dip Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well blended.
- 8
Chill the Dip
Cover the ranch dip with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- 9
Serve with Pickles
Serve the fried dill pickle chips hot alongside the chilled ranch dip for dipping.
