Cheese Curds

Marinara Sauce

Method

Cheese Curds Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Bread the Cheese Curds

Dip each cheddar cheese curd first in the flour, shaking off any excess, then coat in the beaten eggs, and finally roll in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

  4. 4

    Fry the Cheese Curds

Carefully add the breaded cheese curds in batches to the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Sauté the Garlic

In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 6

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the saucepan. Stir to combine.

  3. 7

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens slightly.
